Rest & retreat at Idler’s Hill

A day away for those living with cancer. Nourish yourself with Yoga through mindful movement, meditation, pranayama breathing & relaxation. Learn about Ayurvedic practices for daily life & enjoy lunch in a serene setting. This retreat is suitable for those affected by any type of cancer, at any stage of treatment or recovery. Practices are guided by Michelle & Tara who together have education in oncology, yoga therapy & mental health aware trainings alongside their traditional yoga trainings.

We’ll begin with a warming teas & treats. If it’s chilly, we’ll light the log fire and sit in circle to Acknowledge Country and meet one another. An energising yoga asana practice will start the morning on the open air deck. We’ll teach you how to settle and soothe the nervous with pranayama breath. Enjoy a lush vegetarian & vegan lunch with views of the lake. To invite inner quiet we’ll share a guided meditation. You’ll learn how to make the goodness of ghee and how Ayurveda can support your daily journey. Understand your Ayurvedic ‘dosha’ and how daily rituals can support your constitution. Soften into the grounding calm of yin & restorative yoga. In the last chapter of the afternoon we’ll share tea together along with some sweet treats infused with the nectar of Ayurveda.

This retreat may be something you’d love to attend, but it may be out of reach due to financial hardship. One spot has been made available at no cost as a community gift - please reach out and we’ll guide you to the next steps… you can nominate yourself or someone you know.

Please bring: a yoga mat plus any other props that support you such as a favourite blanket or cushion. We will have yoga bolsters available to borrow at the house. Wear comfortable clothes you can move in, bring something warm if happens to be chilly. North Narrabeen address will be shared a few days prior to event in your pre-arrival email.

Booking terms & conditions: Ticket sales are final. If you are unable to attend, your ticket can be transferred to another person prior to the event. Transferral of your ticket to another person is to be organised by the original ticket holder and the new name is to be supplied to your hosts. This yoga retreat is open to all ages. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult, both guests must purchase a ticket if they are to attend together. This event is a small gathering, with 11 guests maximum attending the day retreat. Please contact us if you wish to discuss any injuries or your health condition that affects your practice. Please inform us if you have any specific dietary requirements - both vegetarian with dairy and vegan dairy free options will be offered. You will be required to sign a waiver on arrival before you start your day. Please be COVID safe - if you have tested positive in the last 5 days, please transfer your ticket to another guest.
